Marcus began as an inline speed skater at age six then transitioned to the ice when he was 12. He was inspired from a young age by Olympic medalist, JR Celski, who is also from his hometown. His interests include basketball, anime, and music. After retiring from skating, he plans to have a career in sports medicine.
