When thinking about the reason Brandon choose to short track sped skating, he commented that his "passion for short track started when I was watching the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. The electric speed of the racers and their blindingly quick passes stopped me in my tracks and drew me in. I knew instantly, 'That's what I want to do'."
