Day 4 Recap - Manganello, Cepuran, Stoppelmoor, Warren & Birkeland Qualify for Games
At the last day of the 2026 Olympic Team Trials - Long Track, Mia Manganello, Ethan Cepuran, Giorgia Birkeland, Sarah Warren and Zach Stoppelmoor qualified to represent Team USA at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 in February. Cooper McLeod, while already qualified, has secured his race spot in the 500m. Jordan Stolz raced and earned his pre-qualified spot in the Mass Start. This finalizes all Olympic spots.
Jordan Stolz raced in both Mass Start races, taking second in the first race, behind Casey Dawson, and first in the second. This solidified his fourth distance quota spot for the Games.
Ethan Cepuran placed second in the Mass Start rankings and will be headed to his second Olympic Games.
Zach Stoppelmoor took second in the Men’s 500m and qualified to skate in the Olympics with a time of 34.66. This is Stoppelmoor’s first Olympic Team nomination.
Cooper McLeod took third place in the 500m with a time of 34.82. He will race in the 500m & 1000m in Milan.
During the Women’s Mass Start, Mia Manganello raced to secure her pre-qualified spot on the Olympic Team. This will be Manganello’s third Olympics.
In a close competition, Greta Myers took second place in the Mass Start, and will race the Team Pursuit, Mass Start, and 1500m in the Games.
Giorgia Birkeland, 2022 Olympian, was nominated by a selection committee as a Team Pursuit Specialist and confirmed as qualified for the Olympic Team. This is Birkeland’s second Olympic Games.
