This event will serve as qualifying event for selecting the US Short Track Fall World Cup Team and the Youth Olympic Winter Games Team.
Please note that the ZERO-FALSE-START rule will be in place.
This event is open to US citizens or those that have an ISU clearance form or at minimum a temporary or permanent resident card for the US.
Entry Deadline:
September 12th at 5pm MT
Late entries accepted until September 18th 5pm MT. A $100 late entry fee charge will apply
Preliminary Schedule:
Friday: 1500m #1 & 500m #1 – Qualifying Rounds and Finals
Saturday: 1000m #1 & 1500m #2 – Qualifying Rounds and Finals
Sunday: 500m #2 & 1000m #2 – Qualifying Rounds and Finals
Coaches Meeting:
Thursday: 5:30pm
A Zoom link will be sent to all eligible and current coaches named by their athletes during the registration process.
Official Training:
Official Training is available complimentary on
Thursday, Sept. 21st 3:45-4:30pm
Trial starts 4:20-4:30 to practice Zero-False-Start rule

Safety Equipment:
All USS member skaters are required to wear full-body cut-resistant protection (either integrated into the skinsuit or separate underwear). Please take not of ISU Communication #2400 and that USS will follow the ISU’s guidance regarding the level of mandatory and recommended equipment for the 2023-2024 season.
- USS Selection Competitions
Mandatory required minimum: full-body cut-resistant Level 3 suit and cut resistant Level 3 gloves.
Please refer to USS Rules & Regulations page 6 for all other requirements.

COVID-19 Protocol:
USS currently does not have any COVID entry protocols for USS events.
Eligibility:
- 14 years of age before July 1st 2022
- Eligible to represent the US at international competition
- Relay participation is mandatory
Qualifying Time Standard:
Women: 48.500
Men: 46.000
*times have to be achieved according to point E) 1. In the USS Rules & Regulations
Athletes selected to a USS travel team need to be prepared to show proof of a current Athlete Physical Exam Form as outlined. Proof will have to pre presented at Athlete Processing immediately following the qualifying competition and cannot be older than 365 days.
Athlete Check-In:
All athletes are required to pick up their helmet cover and transponders either in person or via a designated individual on Thursday, September 21st , time TBD, at the Utah Olympic Oval Timing Deck.
At the same time equipment check for cut-resistant suites and skates will be conducted. This is a mandatory check for all skaters.
No deposit will be required.
Not returned transponders will be charged to the skater at $100/unit
Not returned helmet covers will be charged to the skater at $20/cover

Athlete Processing:
For athletes who qualify for international travel as part of the Fall World Cup team, please be prepared to undergo Team Processing after conclusion of event. Plan around 1 hour to complete all paperwork, visa applications, and apparel fitting.
Please bring:
- Passport (+old passport with Chinese visa if applicable)
- Passport photo (2x2 inch with white background, can be done at Walgreens/CVS)
- Drivers License or Learners Permit
- If under 18:
- Laptop/Tablet (if applicable) to work on Visa Application
