USS DEVO Camp Long Track

Attention Juniors!  Come join us at the US Speedskating Junior Development Camp at the Pettit National Ice Center in West Allis, Wisconsin.  The camp is sure to provide an exhilarating experience. This is where the future stars of speedskating come to sharpen their skills and ignite their passion for the sport. This camp offers young athletes an unparalleled opportunity to train alongside elite coaches and fellow speedskaters, all while fostering a spirit of camaraderie and competition. With its world-class facilities and a focus on developing both technique and mental toughness, the camp is a critical stepping stone for junior athletes aiming to make their mark on the national and international stage.

Friday, October 4th

8:15-8:30am   Check-in – Hall of Fame Room – 2^nd Level of Pettit

8:30am            Orientation/Introduction

10:00am          On-Ice – Technical Session

12pm               Lunch (Provided)

1:30pm            Presentation – Routines/Mental Prep.

3:00pm            Free Time / Mental Break

4:00pm            On-Ice – Sprint Focused Warm Up; First Half: Acceleration/Start Work

6:00pm            Camp Ends

Saturday, October 5th

~7:30am          Warm-up & Time Trials (x2 Races – Racing fees included in registration)   

11:30am          Off-Ice: proper warm down with recovery discussion (nutrition, hydration, sleep, active and passive recovery techniques)

12pm               Lunch (Provided)

2:30pm            Strength Training Fundamentals / Wingate Testing

5:30pm            Dinner (Provided)

Sunday, October 6th

8:00am            TP/TS/MS Strategies

9:30am            Practice, TP, TS, MS

11:30am          Proper Warm Down

12:00pm         Wrap up
