Sean Shuai

Personal

Sean's skating career started when he was three and tried skating after seeing his sister figure skate. Sean began with hockey and eventually moved to speed skating at the age of 11 once he had seen the former Dominion Speedskating Club training at the Reston Skatequest in Virginia. When he isn't skating, Sean enjoys running, modifying cars, and rereading the Art of War by Sun Tzu. He also absolutely loves anything technique related when it comes to skating, and he'd love to be a coach as a side gig when he eventually retires.

Sean's borrowed motto is "知彼知己，百戰不殆；不知彼而知己，一勝一負；不知彼，不知己，每戰必殆。" In english, it means "If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle."
