When asked who his sports idol is, he responded with, “J.R. Celski and Thomas Hong. I grew up watching Jr Celski be the face of the US on tv. He was the hero I was always cheering for at the international level and he was at the skill level I was chasing for. Thomas Hong is a skater i’ve known since I was 5 years old. He was always the top skater in his age group and always won with ease. I was able to become teammates with him towards the end of his career and I received so much help from him.”
