Personal
Ben might be a great speed skater since he started at the age of 11, but he’s also talented at video editing and Ultimate Frisbee. He first got into speed skating just because he lived close to the Utah Olympic Oval, and his sports idol quickly became Apolo Ohno. Speed skating wasn’t the only sport he tried as he competed in football, basketball, soccer, karate, gymnastics, track & field and wrestling. Once he was old enough, he served a two-year mission trip in Japan on behalf of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Ben’s favorite quote is “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard” by Kevin Durant.
