Charles T. Fisher

Charles Fisher was born in 1886 in Illinois. During his life he achieved the titles of Western Indoor and Outdoor Champion many times, as well as being the Wisconsin State Champion twelve times from 1904-1920. Charles won numerous titles throughout his speed skating career and was considered one of the most consistent skaters in the country. He was a member of the Franklin Skating and Athletic Club of Chicago, the Washington Park Sportsman Club of Milwaukee and was an officer and member of the Western Skating Association. He was on track to compete at the first Olympic Winter Games in 1924 when he died from a burst appendix in 1919 at the age of 33.

Charles was inducted into the National Speedskating Hall of Fame on May 18, 1967 in Detroit, Michigan.
