Allan Potts

Allan was born in 1904. In 1924, he finished fourth in the Mid-Atlantic Championships in allround. During his life he was a National Indoor and Outdoor Champion, who competed in the 1932 (Lake Placid, NY) and 1936 (Bavaria, Germany) Olympics. He set the World record in 500 meters at 42.4 seconds in 1936. Throughout his life, he won over 20 major competitions, including the 1928 National Indoors. He was inducted into the National Speedskating Hall of Fame on May 18, 1967 in Detroit, Michigan.
