Ted Young

Ted was born on April 12, 1909 and passed away on January 1, 1987. He served three terms as President of the ASU between 1939 and 1945, and was president of the Missouri Skating Association from 1934 to 1940. Outside of board positions, he served as a National Starter from 1938 into the mid 1960s. Ted was instrumental along with Jim Hawkins and Lamar Ottsen in the building of the Steinberg Memorial Skating Rink in Forest Park in St. Louis, which opened in October 1957. He was inducted to the National Speedskating Hall of Fame on May 16, 1992 in St. Louis, Missouri.
