Donald H. Anderson

Donald was born September 15, 1926. He has been involved in speed skating since 1966, though never as a competitor or father of a competitor. Don always enjoyed skating and in 1946 volunteered to help at local meets. By 1950, he found his interests led him to the position of clerk. He has been a National Chief Clerk since the early 1960s and has been a board member of the Eastern Minnesota Skating Association and its successor for 40 years. At the national level, he has held a variety of roles, as Chairman of the Nominating Committee, the Hall of Fame Committee, as a Board of Control member, and has served as a member of numerous other committees. He has been the Chief Clerk at 25 National Championships. Donald was inducted to the National Speedskating Hall of Fame on May 19, 1996 in Bloomington, Minnesota.
