Welcome to the Utah Olympic Oval Development & NextGen Summer Camp 2026-27! Train at one of the best speed skating facilities in the world and skate on the fastest ice on Earth!

This high-performance development camp is an incredible opportunity to take your training to the next level and set your sights on the 2034 Olympic Games right here in Utah. This is an exciting chapter as we combine forces with the NextGen camp, elevating our training program to new heights. Join us as we share resources between the Utah Olympic Oval and US Speed Skating, creating a dynamic environment for aspiring athletes.

Led by Linlin Sun, 2010 Olympic gold medalist and Development Coordinator at Utah Olympic Oval, our camp promises an unparalleled experience. Linlin has been spearheading successful summer camps since 2012, and under her guidance, you'll have the opportunity to train alongside national team coaches, oval program coaches, and experts in sports science to gain valuable insights into elite-level performance.

Our camp's comprehensive program includes participation in the Desert Classic competition, daily on-ice sessions totaling 4 hours, 3 hours of off-ice training, and specialized classroom sessions aimed at refining your skills, knowledge, and overall development. Train alongside athletes from across the country and gain valuable race experience at the Desert Classic competition.

Camp info:

Date: August 7-13

Desert Classic: August 7-9

Training Camp: August 10-13

Registration Deadline: July 31^st

Eligibility:

• Age: 7 – 35 Years
• Time standard: Skaters must achieve the time standard: 500m in 1:05.00 or faster

Cost:

• Camp Fee: $585 (Does not include Desert Classic Entry Fee. Desert classic registration must be completed separately)
• Daily drop-in fee: $135.

Camp Includes:

• 2-3 hours of off-ice training each day
• 4 hours of on-ice training each day
• Coaching during Desert Classic
• Additional activities:
  • Hiking
  • Inline skating
  • Curling (TBD)
  • Bandy
  • Pool
• Classroom/ Meetings
  • Equipment and Sharpening
  • Nutrition (NTP resource)
  • Strength & Conditioning (NTP resource)
  • Meeting with an Olympian

General Schedule Info:

• Thursday, August 6 – Arrival & Check-in at 2-4pm. STDC Official ice at ~3pm
• Friday, Saturday and Sunday – Desert Classic
• Monday – Thursday August 10– 13 Two ice sessions per a day.8am-5pm with 1.5hrs break for Lunch.
