Athlete Bio
Tanner began his athletic journey on the basketball court, playing in a youth biddy basketball league. While out skating with a teammate one day, he won a session race, catching the attention of the DJ on duty, who happened to be the head coach of a local speed skating team. The coach invited him to try the sport.
Initially, Tanner's mother hesitated, as the family's focus was on earning a college basketball scholarship. However, after seeing his enthusiasm for skating, she allowed him to attend a beginner speed skating session that Saturday. Soon after, he began splitting his time evenly between basketball and skating, and his passion for speed skating grew from there.
