2026 USS Officials Seminar - ST Starter

US Speedskating is pleased to announce a US Speedskating Short Track Starter Seminar for New Starters, to be conducted at the Buffalo Short Track Championships on Friday, October 23, 2026 at 7pm ET, (Skybox room B).
Hosted by ISU International Starter, Tom Conley, and ISU Starter, Gibby Bozicevich, who are willingly share their years of expertise at the highest level of officiating.

This seminar is FREE.  If you've ever wanted to get involved as a starter, or if you just want to learn more about the rules of speedskating, this seminar is for you!
It will run about 45-60 minutes.

For those attending the Buffalo meet, you will have the opportunity to start races during the meet on Saturday and Sunday after taking the seminar.  If you want to start races, please bring a whistle.  I recommend the Fox 40, available at Dick's sporting goods for $9.99, about 10 minutes from the rink, or even cheaper on Amazon, etc.  We used to provide whistles, but with COVID, please bring your own, you won't be able to start races without one.  We will provide everything else you need, guns, ammo, etc.

I've sent this Email to everyone I know who would be interested in taking a Short Track Starters Seminar. Please forward this to anyone you think would be interested, and to your teams and clubs as well.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
