U.S. Men take silver in the Team Pursuit

The US team of Brian Hansen (Glenview, Ill.), Chad Hedrick (Spring, Texas) and Jonathan Kuck (Champaign, Ill.) won the silver medal in the men’s team pursuit in long track speedskating at the Richmond Olympic Oval Saturday afternoon. The trio trailed their opponent from Canada by as much as 0.73 seconds early in the race, trimming that margin to 0.21 at the finish with a time of 3:41.58. The Canadians hit the line at 3:41.37 to win the gold medal. The bronze went to the Netherlands, which set an Olympic record in the B final with a time of 3:39.95.

 

Trevor Marsicano (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) also skated for the US during the earlier rounds and will receive the silver medal as well.
