2010 U.S. Speedskating Championships

The last Olympic qualifying event for U.S. long track skaters begins this Saturday at the Utah Olympic Oval. More than 70 skaters are registered for the event that will fill the final spots for each individual distance on the U.S. Olympic Team.
“It’s arguably one of the biggest competitions of the year for a lot of the skaters,” said Mike Kooreman, US Speedskating National Coach/Long Track Coordinator. “It’s a final qualifying race to make the Olympic team.”
The competition schedule is as follows:
Saturday 11:30— Ladies and Men’s 500m (1 and 2)
Sunday 10:30— Ladies and Men’s 1000m (1), Ladies 3000m, Men’s 5000m
Monday—Rest Day
Tuesday 10:30—Ladies and Men’s 1500m
Wednesday 10:30—Ladies and Men’s 1000m (2), Ladies 5000m, Men’s 10,000m
